Veneers

What is a veneer?

A veneer is similar to a crown but is typically only done when there is some cosmetic concern. It is a durable shell that slides over the front of the tooth, allowing us to make your tooth appear as a different shape or color than your natural tooth.

Why would I want veneers?

Veneers are a great option when you have a few minor concerns with your smile, and are typically reserved for your front teeth.

If you have some teeth that appear too small, are discolored, misshapen, or simply not the way you want them to look, veneers are usually a great option.

How does it work?

Veneer procedures are very simple and can typically be performed with minimal numbing.

We first discuss your ideal vision of your teeth and make a preliminary impression so that a dental lab can form a mock up version of what you want. Once you and the team agree on a final result, we get to work.

We remove a small surface layer of your tooth and then use an impression material to make a model of your teeth. The dental lab uses this impression, along with information about how you want your smile to look, to design the veneers.

When you return, we use a strong dental material to adhere the veneers to your tooth, transforming you smile!

Veneers are a great option for people looking to mask the color and/or the orientation of their natural teeth, but keep in mind that sometimes a full crown is more ideal, especially if the tooth is rotated significantly or presents with fillings already.
